Baden Croft
Old Man Banksia, 2026
Oil on canvas
140 × 130 cm
In Old Man Banksia, Croft captures the distinctive character of this iconic native species through layered greens, soft ochres and dramatic tonal shifts. The textured bloom emerges from a darkened landscape, its intricate surface built through confident, gestural brushwork.
Balancing monumentality with intimacy, the work transforms a familiar botanical form into a commanding portrait of resilience and presence.
