Hyett & The Captain was established following a first encounter with Leigh and John's Barn in Balnarring - a space whose scale, history, and presence suggested a different way of engaging with art.

Rather than operating as a conventional gallery, the project unfolds as an evolving cultural program. Exhibitions and gatherings are intentionally limited, allowing time for reflection, conversation, and a deeper engagement with both the work and the place in which it is experienced.
